About the Name

The artist-name 'Heiko Sunfyah' has its roots in 2010 as 'Heiko Sunfire'. Its creation was inspired by the circumstance, that Heiko used to draw lines around the letter o of his first name, making it look like a sun when signing congratulation cards. He was mainly playing reggae music at that time where the fire is a key element in many lyrics. So he combined it to: Sun-fire. But as he got deeper involved into reggae culture and learned a few parts of jamaican patois he changed 'fire' to the slang spelling 'fyah'. Though Heiko developed from a reggae-artist to play also other styles today, his artist-name 'Heiko Sunfyah' is still valid.
